Bangsa Indonesia kaya akan karya dan budaya. Banyaknya suku dan adat yang terhampar di tanah air Indonesia menjadikan hasil olah pikir, olah rasa, olah jiwa, dan olah raga manusia Indonesia itu pun menjadi sebuah keniscayaan untuk terlahir di tanah air tercinta. Karya-karya kesusastraan yang maha agung tercipta dari tangan-tangan orang-orang Indonesia yang kreatif sebagai anugrah dari Tuhan Yang Maha Esa. Menghargai karya merupakan perilaku terpuji yang layak untuk dikembangkan oleh setiap warga negara dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Menjadi bangsa yang dipenuhi oleh warga negara yang memiliki apresiasi tinggi terhadap suatu hasil karya adalah keniscayaan bagi bangsa ini. Salah satunya adalah menghargai sebuah karya tulisan.
Belakangan ini, fenomena “ayo menulis” kembali digalakkan oleh pemerintah terhadap warga negaranya. Khususnya di dunia Pendidikan, tak keren rasanya jika Pendidikan tanpa karya tulis. Oleh sebab itu, para akademisi merasa bangga jika telah berhasil membuat sebuah karya tulis. Padahal menulis saja tidak cukup, masih perlu pengamalan dari tulisan-tulisan yang dibuat secara jujur tersebut yakni lewat jalur pendidikan dan pengabdian pada masyarakat.

Menulis juga bukan sekedar untuk mengejar kenaikan pangkat atau golongan dalam suatu instansi tertentu atau supaya memperoleh sertifikasi semata, oleh sebab hidup di republik ini masih penuh derita atau karena nafsu manusia yang tidak akan ada kata habisnya dalam mengerja harta, tahta, dan wanita/pria. Akan tetapi, seperti apa yang oleh Fiersa Besari (2017, hlm. 1) katakan bahwa “menulis adalah sebuah kegiatan untuk mengabadikan pemikiran. Dengan menulis, kita sedang mewariskan pandangan kita di hari ini untuk mereka yang hidup di masa depan”. Sementara itu, menulis menurut Djago Tarigan (2013) adalah kegiatan mengekspresikan secara tertulis berbagai macam ide, gagasan, perasaan, pendapat, atau pikiran. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan sementara bahwa menulis adalah suatu kegiatan untuk mengabadikan pemikiran, dengan cara mewariskan ide, gagasan, perasaan, pendapat, pandangan kita saat ini untuk generasi yang akan datang.

Menulis adalah sebuah proses yang ditempuh membutuhkan sebuah kesabaran dan ketelitian serta kecintaan di dalamnya. Akan tetapi, Sapardi Joko Darmono (2013) pernah berkata tentang bagaimana menulis bagi mereka yang mau memulai untuk menulis, yakni, (1) jangan (terlalu banyak) berpikir, (2) tulisan yang berkuasa, dan (3) jangan takut.Dengan kata lain, menulis adalah kegiatan yang mengalir begitu saja tanpa perlu banyak mikir sebab tulisan yang berkuasa serta jangan pernah merasa takut dengan apa yang kita tulis, sebab sejelek-jelek bagaimana pun tulisan kita, suatu saat tulisan itu akan ada yang membacanya.
Menulis adalah tentang kesukarelaan warga negara (civic volunteerism) dalam mewariskan pemikirannya (sebagai manifestasi rasa syukur kepada Sang Pencipta) dalam rangkasupaya dirinya, bangsanya, dan tanah airnya supaya tetap ada. Seperti apa yang menurut Cecep Darmawan (dalam www.cecepdarmawan.com, 2017) kemukakan bahwa “sebuah karya tulisan yang dipublikasikan pada media massa dinilai lebih efektif daripada aksi demo. Hal ini disebabkan penuangan pemikiran melalui tulisan yang komprehensif mampu diterima dengan baik oleh publik”. Dengan demikian, menulis dapat menjadi modal berharga dalam rangka upaya mewujudkan cita-cita yang dikehendaki bersama. Cita-cita luhung bangsa Indonesia yang terdapat di dalam Pancasila sila kelima dan terkandung di dalam Pembukaan Undang-Undang Dasar Negara Republik Indonesia Tahun 1945 Alinea keempat, yakni, mewujudkan suatu keadilan sosial bagi seluruh rakyat Indonesia.
Semoga dimasa yang akan datang, akan banyak lagi terlahir putra-putri dari nusantara yang termashur hingga ke seluruh dunia melalui karya-karya tulisnya atau karya-karya lain yang bermanfaat positif untuk kehidupan umat manusia. Sebab bangsa ini, bangsa yang kaya akan sumber daya manusia. Tinggal persoalan bagaimana memberdayakan warga negaranya itu yang masih perlu untuk dimusyawarahkan bersama oleh para expertdi negeri ini supaya tercapai kata mufakat “Membawa Bangsa Indonesia Ke dalam Pintu Gerbang Kemerdekaan Indonesia yang berdaulat, adil, makmur, dan bermartabat”. Semoga NKRI terus dirahmati dan diberkahi oleh-Nya.
