TIGA TOKOH BEDA GENERASI BERTEMU: Prof. Dr. H. Endang Sumantri, M.Ed (kiri), Prof. Dr. H. Achmad Sanusi (tengah) dan Prof. Dr. H. Cecep Darmawan (kanan)
Salahsatu nikmat Allah SWT adalah saat diberi umur panjang dan sehat. Itulah yang nampak dari tiga sosok alumni PKn UPI yang namanya tak asing dalam blantika dunia pendidikan. 
Pertama, Prof. Dr. H. Achmad Sanusi, S.H., M.PA. Ia lahir di Banjaran, Bandung Selatan pada 31 Agustus 1929. Berarti usia saat ini sudah mencapai 88 tahun. Sungguh usia yang panjang untuk ukuran masyarakat Indonesia. Cukup menarik bahwa sosok ini pada usia 37 tahun sudah menjabat Rektor IKIP Bandung dan menjadi Guru Besar pada tahun 1966. Selain itu menjabat Rektor pertama Universitas Islam Nusantara (UNINUS).
Kedua, Prof. Dr. H. Endang Sumantri, M.Ed. lahir di Ciamis pada 15 Juli 1940. Kini usianya menginjak 77 tahun. Guru besar Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia alumni PKn UPI ini pernah menjabat Pembantu Rektor IKIP Bandung dan  pernah pula menjadi Rektor Universitas Galuh Ciamis.
Ketiga, Prof. Dr. H. Cecep Darmawan, S.Pd., S.Ip., M.Si., MH. Ia boleh dikata sebagai generasi ketiga. Usianya kini genap 47 tahun. Sekjen IKA PKn UPI ini dalam karirnya pernah menjabat Direktur Direktorat Kemahasiswaan UPI dan juga pernah mendapat amanah sebagai Rektor Universitas Subang.

Dari ketiga sosok alumni yang berbeda generasi tersebut nampak ada sisi persamaan. Ketiganya pernah menjabat rektor. Tak pelak saat mereka bertemu dalan suatu acara yang sering dibahas seputar dunia pendidikan. Terutama membandingkan antara perkembangan dunia pendidikan masa lalu dan dengan masa kini.
“Pertemuan tiga generasi ini semakin menguatkan bahwa kehidupan manusia terus bergerak semakin tua,” ungkap Cecep Darmawan. Umur yang panjang merupakan salahsatu bonus dari Tuhan yang begitu berharga.
