UPI Luncurkan Buku “60 Tahun Prof. Idrus Affandi

BANDUNG, (PRLM).- Untuk memperingati Hari Ulang Tahun ke-60 Prof Idrus Affandi, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) meluncurkan dan bedah buku “60 Tahun Idrus Affandi”, di Gedung Ahmad Sanusi, Jln. Setiabudhi, Bandung, Rabu (2/4/2014).

Hadir pada kesempatan tersebut sejumlah tokoh yang ikut memberikan tulisannya dalam buku. Beberapa di antaranya adalah Marsekal Madya TNI Ismono Wijayanto, Mayjen TNI S Widjonarko, Arief Hidayat, dll.

Dalam paparannya Ismoyo Wijayanto mengatakan, Mendidik pemimpin dan memimpin pendidik itu mempunyai tanggungjawab moral karena pemimpin harus memberi keteladanan.

Mendidik artinya membentuk  pemimpin yang dibentuk dari pendidik yang mumpuni. Tugas pendidik adalah untuk mewariskan ilmu, seseorang yang kreatif yang memberi dampak positif ke depan, yakni melahirkan pemimpinan bermartabat.

Pendidik dan pemimpin meninggalkan warisan yang tidak lekang masa. Pemimpin itu harus “ing ngarso sung tulodo” (memberi teladan di depan), “ing madyo mangun karso” (memberi semangat untuk maju lebih baik), dan “tut wuri handayani” (memberi dorongan dari belakang). Artinya, pemimpin itu harus melahirkan pempimpin yang lebih hebat.

“Tapi yang harus diingat seorang pemimpin adalah knowledge is power but character is more,” ujar Ismoyo.

Rektor dalam sambutannya mengatakan, buku yang berbicara tentang ketokohan seseorang dapat memberi kebermaknaan pada pribadi orang tersebut maupun sosial. Sebuah pengalaman yang terakumulasi dan akan membangun kebermaknaan.

“Mungkin dalam proses menjalaninya sangat sulit, tapi itu sebagai sebuah proses dalam menjalani kehidupan yang akhirnya memberi hikmah dan makna,” ujarnya.


Rektor berharap, dengan diluncurkannya buku tersebut akan ada refleksi dan kontemplasi kehidupan ke arah lebih bermakna. Termasuk masukan yang lebih baik bagi dunia pendidikan karena Prof Idrus adalah tokoh pendidikan. (A-148/A-147)***
